I must admit to stupidity but I must do it for the sake of everyone else reading this thread and especially their dogs. I have discovered the most probable main cause of my problems with teaching my dog to come using the remote. IMPROPER FITTING. It seams that most times the collar was too loose! So if you are using the remote and experiencing problems make sure that you fit the collar correctly :-(

    Default Ecollar too loose

Good point. Equipment error must always be considered when troubleshooting. Often ecollars are put on too loose or borderline too loose. Sometimes it seems to be on tight enough, but when a dog lowers his/head to sniff the collar doesn't contact.

When using a dogtra collar I almost always use at least 3/4 inch contacts to ensure a long enough reach of the contacts so I don't have to cinch so tight -even with short haired breeds.

Always remember to loosen and reposition the collar every 2-3 hours to avoid pressure soars.
