    Question Dog jumping on me

I've had this problem ever since I got Phoebe as a puppy. (giant schnauzer) She gets very hyper and jumps up when greeting me--- IF she is around our other Giant. If he's not around, she will quickly come under control. If Atlas is there, they break into the 'happy dance' where she's jumping on his back to get to me. Verbal reprimands make her more excited. Atlas bounces on his toes but doesn't jump up. Eventually I usually grab her collar and hold her down while she tries repeatedly to jump and/or lick my face. Now I'm in a wheelchair from foot surgery, and every time I move into the wheelchair she jumps with front legs on my lap. Needless to say, she isn't getting a lot of exercise right now and that doesn't help. Suggestions?

I would suggest staying as calm as possible and asking her to sit and dont put your hands on her until she does. If her front feet leave the ground during the greeting take your hands off her and calmly tell her to sit again. She can break the sit while you are petting, but repeat when the feet leave the ground.

Definitely go over the triangle step 5 stuff - since this will make everythig easier if she learns to wait for your call after the greetings.

You don't even want o think of any corrections for this behavior at this point until you take some time to teach her and make it easier for her.

How is she with fetch? u can still play this with her in a wheel chair if she brings it back. There is also tug... she can pull you round this way.
